  • It’s Time to End Cervical Cancer

    More women in Kentucky should join the fight to end cervical cancer by getting vaccinated and undergoing regular screenings for the disease, the Kentucky Department for Public Health (DPH) announced today. Women age 9 to 26 years old can receive a vaccine to prevent the human papillomavirus (HPV) linked to cervical cancer.

  • New Nursing Home Rating System Enhances Tools for Consumers

    The Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) recently launched a new rating system to be used as a tool for consumers to access information about the past performances of every CMS certified nursing home in the country, including facilities in Kentucky. The feature is part of CMS’ Nursing Home Compare Web site.
